HP Questions

If my GSL-SE was to get rebuilt and streetported what would the HP be
150 - 175?

Is it possible to get around 250HP with out a turbo or supercharger?
Trying to plan out the steps needed to get where I want to.

250 would probably necessitate a bridge or peripheral port.

I'd say a ported 13B with your exhaust would be around 170-180 hp maybe...

If you set up your 13b as a 4-port, streetport, TUNE IT RIGHT, there is no reason you shouldn't be a little over 200hp.

I've been told by a experienced rotary mechanic that if you have a 13B Streetported with EFI and cone-airfilter, a well built exhaust system, you can get as high as 220HP at the flywheel.

The estimates below are indications of what you can expect on average at the flwheel.

1. The average specified Streetportwill give you 165-170hp

2. Adding a good header exhaust system will to about 200-210hp.

3. Going to a Bridgeport plus 2 should result in 230-245hp with a marginal level of streetability, possibly not legal on the road due to nose and pollution, and 10-12 mpg. To get to 250 would reqire a few minor tweaks to achieve, and a good tuner with time on the dyno getting it right.

4. Start with 2 and add a reasonable sized turbo should also get you around 235-250 hp. Think of it as equivalent in power to a street ported Turbo II.

hp

Thanks for all for the replys.
I will stick with the streetport idea. I heard the Bridgeport is not a good idea for a daily driver and is not as dependable.
IS THIS TRUE?

My SE will not be a daily driver but would like to get 100,000 out of the next motor.

Thanks again

The EFI is the biggest restriction on an SE. Mainly the Air Flow Meter just behind the air box. Look at the size of its inlet behind the air fliter and then look at the air boot going to the throttle body. Talk about restricting.
Racing beat says they get 177hp out of the stock SE 6port motor with Dellorto's. I bet you could get a little more than that with a better injection set up.
