How to widen track for ultra wide body kit?
Has anyone looked at replacing the steering rack or spindles in a 1st gen to go ultra wide as for a Mariah GTU type body kit? Saw a thread on another board but all they talked about was a complete hatchet job as per the Fibercan viper kit which is a bunch of Camaro parts.
Rear wheels are easy (rear end swap) but if you want another 8 or 9 inches in the front what can you do? Spacers and offset wheels seem like a scab job. Even to get the 57" track from the FC would be nice. What are our options?

the best way I can see of doing it is to ditch the stock front end from the bulkhead forward and rebuild it out of tubes with a nice double wishone setup with new hubs brakes, a steering rack instead of box etc. and a flip front, its a lot of work but so is fitting that wide body
