How to switch to a regular air filter?
Is there a way I could put a regular or aftermarket air filter, the round type that just bolts to the carburetor on my rx7? If I can, what do I do with the extra hoses and what not? Thanks.

The only thing that bolts tp the nikki I know of is the Racing beat power pulse assembly that sells for $50.
There was another company that made one they claimed was better than the RB one but I forget who.
Rotary Performance sells a smaller lid and bolt combo that make for more area to draw air in from but I personally think I could build a better intake.
You could always make something custom or cut up a factory intake as I did.
I am going to figure out a cowl induction or some other cold air intake for my car when I get it running again.
Hope this helps
