Oily fingernail polish remover and a clean terry cloth towel. Like diesel and mineral spirits, it doesn't evaporate too quickly...but the acetone in it will cut the residue with no harm to your paint.
BTW and FWIW: Don't try methyl ethyl ketone. It will take the paint off. Methyl isobutyl ketone will as well. So will xylene.

3M part number 03607...Adhesive, Wax and Mark Remover...just used it tonight to get rid of all the old adhesive left after I removed the black bumpers from the doors and quarter panels. I used a plastic scraper to dislodge the large chunks. Worked great and didn't dry my hands out...

Here's the results of hour and a half's worth of effort with the 3M remover and some disposable cloth towels....now it's off to the Quad State Rotary BBQ here in Arlington...I wonder if the "enthusiastic" RedBaronII will be as ugly as he posts??

Nice clean look on your molding removal Mar3.
How did you get your Wheels so New Looking?
I have a spare set done in Gold Inserts, but the Gold Paint is in pretty bad shape.
I've been tripping over these wheels in my garage for years and evertime I trip and look @ them,
I say to myself (Self) do somthing with them will ya!!!
I want mine to look like yours so whats your secret?
mine are in great shape overall except for the Coating.
Thanks

I think you should put the trim back on that sweety Mar, it would look something like this:

lol....I'll def have to pass on those "looks".....Eagle1 spray and a little elbow grease....the cleacoat is beginning to go on these rims, also. Once it gets bad, I plan on taking the time to polish all the surfaces and then spraying the interior web with "anodize blue" from Eastwood. The outer lip will stay natural highly polished and then I'll hotcoat the whole rim in clear....the side moulding stays off. I know a resto shop in Arlington that can get much thinner trim in any color you want and I'll do the bumper guard trim to match the final paint scheme...

My car didn't even make it to the meet in Arlington. I was reading zero pressure on the oil pressure guage and the caravan was ready to go so I couldn't look into it too well. Turns out it was just a connector that had fallen off. I got a wheel much liek the 3M stripe off wheel and it started taking off paint so I quit. I should just strip her down and get her painted. Sigh. Too much work, not enough time.
