4.88 and 4.78's on 81-82 LSD's in my two RX-3's are fun on street use as well as 4.44 on my FB. Except, tall gears are not very exciting on top end (like owning a Chevy with speed limiter )

Obviously spoken by someone who has never driven an Rx-7 with a locked diff.

I've driven mine in the rain plenty of times and it's far more controlable and predictable than with an open diff. That's with over 300rwhp. As for conering, you would barely even notice it has a locked diff. Other then a slight bit of initial understeer it drives like a normal car. The only time it's annoying is at carpark speeds.

I'm never going back to anything else, LSD included.

So you deny the outboard tire "jumps" around sharp street corners and that it is far easier to induce oversteer around corners in the rain with a spool or welded diff?

Really?

That is what I've experienced. The only time it sucks is at very low speeds ie, petrol stations, carparks, u-turns etc. I probably wouldn't recommended it for a daily driver unless you're a bit nuts.

I too had the same doubts about locked diffs but everyone I've talked to who's also done it absolutely loves it.

You can imagine how much fun it would be and how many people would stare if the diff was in a Pro-Street car with say, 33.5" X 21" X 15" M/T's...
