How Much ATF to Change Trans Fluid?

Hi guys,
This is a real quickie. I'm getting my rex ready to hit the road for the first time. She is running pretty good now so I put some insurance and a plate on her and we're gonna see how things go. I've decided to hold off on my 5 spd swap for a while just because I wanna drive the car. I figured I would go ahead and change the fluid in the automatic though.
The haynes manual says the capacity of the transmission is like 6.6 quarts??? Does that mean that I need to buy that much ATF to change the trans fluid? That seems like an awful lot to me.
How much ATF would a fluid change in the trans require? Any help is appreciated. The haynes doesn't say anything about actually changing the trans fluid, just adding when its empty....

well, you figure that the torque converter is going to retain some fluid. I'd say 3 quarts at the most is what you are going to have to replace. Then again, you can drain the fluid and refill and then drive it for about an hour. Drain it and refill again and it should be pretty clean stuff.
