How many People Post, out of thier Rear?

This poll is to document how many people have posted about:

-The way cool body kits theat they are coming out with soon
-The way cool Clear Turnsignals that are in production
-The way cool performance parts (cold air intakes ect) they are producing
-The way cool Spoilers/air dams a friend of thiers make....
-The 2nd gen front suspension swap pictures they have
-The affordable T2 conversion kits for the 13b'd 1st gens/12A'D
-The Carbon Fiber Hoods, fiberglass hoods, fenders, din plates, shifter surrounds, header pannels.... ect.

And all the other crap that had us all excited and jazzed up and then the threads fell off the face of the earth, the products never emerged and the pictures of the "EASY bolt in YEE HAWW's at an affordable price " never came to be....

Just trying to figure out if anyone actually makes the stuff they SPEW out on the E-net and I just missed the thread or what..... I know of a handfull of people that actually came through

Manntis- (unsure how many he ended up selling)
Dzletreen (or whatever off the 2nd gen forum)
Dan atkins
and a few others..

WTF are all these revolutionary products.. I am sick of the "how many of you would like this cool thing I say I can make bbut never end up making" threads....

I know that some things never happen due to NO or LOW demand. But this is crazy when 50 people post on a thread saying Where TF did this guy go.....

Anyways Rant Over

I also think people should have to post pics of their mods in thier garages before adding them to the sigs... Lots of people post on here that they have done this and that spreading miss-info when I suspect they have NEVER EVER lifted a wrench on a rotary.....

Thumbs up

Good Post!

I recommend that anyone buying stuff from this board be sure to ask for customer references, first. Also, check the "good guy / bad guy" listing on this forum.

I'd personally like to give Silverrotor a pat-on-the-back for coming through with the 3rd gen alternator upgrade kits. Cheers to Silverrotor! Thanks for coming through and delivering a great first gen upgrade.

My Garage:
It's not much, but, here's my little ol' garage when I swapped out my current 12A. I actually made a video, but can't seem to find it anywhere. I will confess that this was my first engine swap, though. I enjoyed every bit of the experience; although, I admit that I was abit sore from it. The hardest part was slipping the transmission back to fit the splines of the E-shaft. (I know that I should have pulled the tranny out with the motor, now.) I still have the other motor in my garage, today, on a roller dolly. Maybe one day I'll have the time to attempt a rebuild.

Just as an addition to the post above I recently was shopping for a j-spec, I was approached by a "newer" forum member who claimed to work for a company that sold jpecs with wiring harnesses ect all for $850 shipped.. I PM'd him several times (his location was in California BTW) asking him for a website to the company or ebay name/references.. Well after several days he pm'd me a website, it was a company from Canada!!! PLUS I had used them before and knew that he didn't work for them..... Anyways, besides the usual CUSTOM fabricators, there are other bastards out there who are out to distroy peoples dreams...

Hmm there is only one problem about posting a garage pic. What if we dont have one. I work on the side of the road in fron of my house or at the mini storage place would that count. Just wondering thats all.

But I am also kinda tried of the "I am gonna make this who would be interested" threads. Ya I was interested and i really wanted that or needed it to replace something I cant find. But them I am shot down because they say that they were just testing the waters. WTH if your gonna post something like that make it and sell it. But if you know your gonna keep it to yourself in the end just post look what I can make. And stop getting my hopes up damnit.

Well I have had problems with suppliers with my thread on CF and fibreglass parts, TurboSE failed to follow through whatsoever, he made me look stupid. However I have found another guy locally, but he's a family man and has a full time job so this is his third priority, it'll take time but his stuff is great quality so hang in there. He has the mold made for the underhood, making the hood skin and we'll have a hood with a scoop, also working on a sunroof and sunroof with scoop. Other parts after that. I'm still hanging in there just taking longer than I wanted.

I'm building my speaker pods as we speak, so there.

Oh yeah, and my girlfriend is considering offering reupholstery services for door panels, but frankly, I don't think you all would want to pay for it... We're talking 2-3 hundred a pair.

Don't forget about GSL-SE Addict's 2GCDFIS transistor trick box. That is quite a popular and affordable item that is an actual performance upgrade, rather than appeal to looks.

I just wrote up my vb garage for this, the link is in the sig.

I am not on the forum enough to get into the GBs. I would like the 2GDFIS, anyone have the link to the thread? and is it still available?

Manntis- (unsure how many he ended up selling)
Dzletreen (or whatever off the 2nd gen forum)
Dan atkins
The clear turn signals are produced by a company in Austrailia and wee being made for Jose Reyes.
He sold them for several years.
He recently gave the project over to Dan Atkins, who should have it back on the market soon.

Mantis currently produces the CF version of his vented fibreglass hood.
He had some production issues with the CF version, but they should be along eventually.

13BEEF is also producing an all fibreglass as well as a CF top/fibreglass supported hood in both vented and standard versions.

BTW, I'm guily of not completing one of my projects.
I was working on a replacement dash a few years ago, but life got in the way and it was shelved.
It is, however back in development, and I hope to have the prototype ready to go in my new car this spring.
No promises on production at all yet tho.
I'm keeping it realistic, and completeing one project at a time. First up is the plexi-moonroof. (Planned release, Early-mid January)
Once that's done, and production is runnig smoothly, I'm moving on to my sleepy eye headlights. (estimated release, March-April)
THEN back to the dash...

I agree with both points.
The Good Guy/Bad Guy forum is a great tool.

BTW, I do have one negative piece of feedback there...
The problem is that people are far more likely to post negative feedback than good feedback.

And silverrotor's alts are a GREAT product that is unfortunatly off the market now...

Here is the thread about the 2GCDFIS w/ TT. I am looking to do some more of these. It may be just the circuit board or kit in DIY form. There has been a couple guys saying they would be willing to assemble for a fee. I am not doing them currently as I am on the other side of the planet for the next year or so and with shipping, the costs would be too high.

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...28#post4909728

If you are interested, let me know and I'll put you on the list.

Billy and Blake definitely deserve props for making good products for the 1st gen.

RRTEC: You are so right about this. Probably less than 5% of the ideas that come up on here ever get made. It is too bad because there are a lot of good ideas out there. It does take quite a bit of effort to get things rolling, though. You need start-up money, time to take orders/build product/ship/communicate with customers, and most of all determination to make it happen. I think besides losing interest in the project and the start-up costs, many people are worried about getting burned. It seems that although there appears to be alot of initial interest in an item, when it comes time to actually pay it is sometimes a different matter.

ChasRX, that takes ***** or whatever to take a picture during a motor swap. I swapped mine out exactly a year ago. The only thing that I share with you is being sore from it. I did mine in the apartment parking lot in defiance of my lease.
