That engine's apex seals finally let go in the rear rotor. That's why it wouldn't restart. It would still crank, but there was no compression. Not bad for sitting at 9 grand for as long as it did.

I'd say rotaries are extremely duarable. Even an abused one can live for a long time.

I've had a couple go over 200K! The last one was smoking pretty bad at the end but was still fast as hell.

Hmmm..... and I thought when motors blew they shot lots of little hot pieces of jagged metal everywhere!

I like how the rotary "fought" against the "abuse" even after it was gone. It puffed smoke and tried to set the car on fire! Ignore me, thats the meds talking.....
