Putting Lights in the Back of the boxes with 6x9's in the center of Plexi Glass. These will be where the storage Compartments were located. I just need to know how to cut the glass now. I just shattered one piece.

how were you trying to cut it? you should be able to cut it on a table saw. try scoring the cut lines first and then cutting it that way.

make your marks, then drill a pilot hole (I personally use a uni-bit), the cut it with a jig-saw but with a fine blade. it takes quite longer but it makes a clean cut.

Well, just to ensure I don't break another one, I bought Thicker Plexi Glass and Wood 1/8 in thick and LOTS of Clamps, I've clamped the glass between the wood and I'm doing all the drilling and cutting through the wood and into the glass.

Working well so far, just takes a long time. This is going to look so cool when I'm done.

I'm all about the rotary tools on plexi glass, use a cut off disc, or if you have them, one of those cutting drill bits, i find they work pretty well, and do not shatter or splinter the glass.

Finished with the first Box, OMG! Looks sooooooo Cool. I went to AutoZone and bought a pair of those High speed Lights for the Back Ground, The color matches the color of my car and the color of my Guages I installed the other day. Took about 2 hours to complete one box. Gotta do some honey do's and then i'll start on the next box

finished the second Box, I gotta admit, they look sweet. I don't have a digital camera or I'd take pics and show you guys. Should be getting a digital camera in the next couple of weeks though. When I do, I'll post many pics.

no matter how thick the plexi-glass is you always want to tape where the cut will go right down the middle of the tape..= cleaner cut,

Lightbulb

I have found for all thicknesses of Plexi, that the little scroll saw works the best. but the jig saw with a metal blade and slow speed should do well. Remember, you was to cut it, not burn thru it.

Thats what i used to use. Pad the jig saw where it rides on the plixi or else it will scratch the **** out of it. And if you dont cut slow, the plexi will jump and up and down and you will crack the **** out it... Worst kinda plexi to cut is plexi mirror and I got a lot of experience there
