How to flare fenders? *the crap-can way

Hello,

As the title suggests I need to flare my front fenders on my FB Lemons car. Being a lemons hooptie it does not need to look good, it just needs to get done.

I have seen Spec-7 cars or SP7 cars(is that something) and it looks like they just bent the fenders up... But I can't figure out how? I did the rolling the fenders with a baseball bat but that just got rid of the lip.

Anyone have any solutions for me? I know you can get the bolt on flares but those are like 300 bucks and so not a viable solution.

I searched for a thread on this I SWEAR but sometimes my searching isn't good. Thread link?

Thanks for the help!

So I did the baseball bat trick but that didnt actually flare the fenders out, it just got rid of the inside lip. I need the fenders to give like 1/2 inch more clearance.

^ heat gun to help soften the metal a little bit and keep paint from cracking, and a bigger bat/piece of rounded wood should do it.

Use a longer pipe and you'll get more flare. The bat probably is almost standing up parallel to the tire as you roll the fender, not giving you enough angle.

Funny, when I see a pink sportscar the first thing I think of is "baseball bat..." too.

Haha that vid was great. I'm about to tackle this soon and ill post up the pprocess I use. Just remember take your time, and having a friend around to help roll the car makes things a lot faster. I flared my 1993 sentra with a baseball bat, and when the bat wouldn't go any further I used a larger diameter pipe to finish it off...of course that car was easy as hell to find parts for and it was smashed to **** when I bought it so I wasn't concerned with messing it up...

You COULD do it with a dead blow and patience, but you will get better results with a bat or pipe...and for the love of all that is holy, please don't paint it pink...

You could always cut the fenders and weld on flares. Its a bit tricky to do without warping the crap out of the fender, but then you can control many things such as arch hight and flare angle.
