A Haynes manual is what you need. I've seen 'em on eBay real cheap.

IIRC, there is a site with the complete factory manuals scanned to pdf format, which would be quite superior to the Haynes manual for vaccuum lines, as they changed for every model year. The Haynes is not too great when it comes to differences in models. You are in luck, as I just remembered the URL:

http://www.wankel.net/~krwright/cars/rx7/wiring.html

That has the wiring diagrams and the full FSM for the '85 model year. Good luck.

Your profile says you've an '83, so I assume the '85 is someone else's?

Is it an SE? If so, there's a screw right on top of the Dynamic Effect Chamber (that aluminum brick with RE-EGI on it) near the throttle body. That's the AAS, and turning it will adjust the idle (according to Manuel, pictured above in inittab's post)

If you look from the driver's side fender to the blue air canister and then down a few inches, you'll see a silver cap at the base of the carb. Remove the cap and you'll see the air/fuel mixture screw. Turn it counter-clockwise to richen the mixture and clockwise to lean it out.
