I have an FC cooler.

I have a 12A, 1985 car.

I have a digital camera.

I just need a place to work on it... There'll be NUMEROUS writeups that I'll use and create in my project...

They need a place around here where you can rent a garage bay.

I've formatted your write-up for use:

http://www.rotorhead.ca/howto.php?ht=FMOC

With your permission I'll leave it up; if not I'll delete it. Should it stay, perhaps a future user of the info (trochoid, maybe?) will provide pics

No problem, and thanks for editing out the M-F word.

Since the was some confusion and misinformation earlier in this post, I have enclosed pics of what to remove and replace when changing over from the beehive oil cooler to the FMOC.

The beehive is held on by 2-10 mm nuts underneath and 1-12 mm bolt head on the top. The new filter pedistal is attached using only the 2-10 mm nuts.

Be sure to replace the o-rings, which can be had at most any parts store. Take the new pedistal with you to properly size the o-rings. They do not need to extend the full diameter of the machined circle they set in due to the expansion of the o-ring when compressed. Lube the new rings with vasoline or fresh oil.

Pic 1 is the beehive you remove. Pics 2 is what you replace it with. This one is off an FC, it makes no difference.

Near the bottom of the iron that the pedistal mounts, you will find a bolt. This is where the new oil cooler line will go.

When I get farther along with my install, I will start a new thread on how to install the FC cooler in a 1st gen. With pics of course.

My application may not suit everyone since I have removed the AC and am installing a widebody kit. I do believe, however, that this is a good upgrade for any modded or hard driven 12a. I will be running a half bridge with streetport primaries, thus the need for better oil cooling.

Sorry my pics took so long.
Here is the SE oil cooler bracket

It mounts to the frame like this

I didn't really read through the rest of this, but it sounds like all the information is on the table.
