How can I tell if engine is ported without disassembly?
i'm trying to figure out of this engine i just picked up has been ported at all or if it's a full bridge, or bone stock with a ridiculously over sized header and a weber. i have no idea. i have no way to get in contact with the person who actually built the car, i can't even get in contact with the guy who bought it after that and wrecked it...so any tips to help me atleast get close would be awesome.

You will know if it is a bridge or not when you start the car. Brap Brap!
Other ways, take off the intake manifold and feel around with your finger, if it is real smooth then you have had some porting done (or atleast cleaned up). Not sure, but if you can shine a flash light through the exhaust and look into the port you might see a reflection.

i have an RB race header for a 12A that i won't be needing anymore if anyone wants, it's still in the box, couple years old.
But, back to the subject, the engine won't be running until it's already in the car, and i was just curious if there was any way to find out. i was thinking maybe pulling the jets in the carb. and see what it looked like they tried to set the carb up for. Thanks for the ideas and the help guys, i appreciate it!
