Elwood, yes it is schedule 40, love your car man, very, very sweet ....... Great write up on your webpage too. Yeah this freakin downpipe is going to be heavy, but it should have a two hundred year life-span..........Also helps keep exhaust noise down. I'm going to be useing your advice on borla in the front and magnaflow in the rear. Sorry about the late reply, been out working for a week

Update

The car is finally done!!!!!!!........ Well almost, I have my exhaust mocked up with wire for right now until I have it professionally done. Good enough to boost down my little road for debugging runs. Boost comes on extremely fast, I get a couple of good runs and the car starts bogging badly, wideband shows lean spike and fuel pressure gauges start fluttering and finially settle at 1 psi.

I'm thinking that bosch pump is sucking so hard, it's pulling alot of guck into the pickup and filter. Time to flush the tank and start trouble shooting

A couple thoughts... are you still running the stock fuel filter? if so, take it out, walk out into your driveway, place on ground and light on fire!!!

Also, if your using a paper element fuel filter BEFORE the fuel pump you could be destroying the filter and drawing filter material into the pump = bad.
I would recommend a canister style AFTER the pump. If you insist on running a filter BEFORE the pump, make sure its a stainless steel or some VACUUM RESISTENT filter media.

lean + boost = BAD... i would recommend setting your wastegate to the MINIMUM boost setting (or even wire your wastegate open) until you resolve your full throttle fuel delivery issues. This way you can run the $hit out of it without detonation. Do you have a wide- or narrow-band O2 gauge?

An issue I may have failed to catch in your writeup... what are you doing with the timing? I hope your still not running the stock advance curve with vacuum line and all... locking the dizzy would be your safest bet at least until you have a way to monitor detonation.

I also failed to read what PSI your boosting to... or what your target is...

There are TONS of people on the forum that are more than willing to help... me needs a little more info though

Bearzah I really appreciate the imput, not running the stock filter but you had me thinking about the 20 micron I had before the bosch pump.........So I took the filter out of the equation and she runs great!!!!! It' seems the Bosch pump didn't like that filter.

I'm going to be installing a surge tank very soon, I'm only running 8 pounds of boost and I'm getting clutch slip in 3rd gear. I think that could be a good thing since the slipping clutch will keep things from breaking.....lol.

Just want to thank everyone who's helped with their advice and everyone else that's posted write-ups in the past......Rx-7 club rocks and I hope to see u guy's and gals at Deals gap this year

Bad83 looking forward to seeing your car at Deals, very sweet ride If I recall you put ROH Snypers on your car, I have a set of center caps for those wheels, they're yours for free if you want...the only thing is one is missing the emblem.

To some I may speak heresy but....I tend to agree with your statement. Light car, lotsa` power = much fun! I have taken down many a V8 with mine.

Nothing like the sound of a boosted Rotary. Rotarys and turbos just belong together. Sad to say that I won't be going to Deal's Gap this time. I hope to get the FB up there sometime. Just a word of caution. Boost and curves can be scary

Welcome to the club! Now get a clutch that can handle it. Nothing like a stripped down FB pushing 400 horses, and I have owned single turbo FC and FDs.

Nice work! Good job getting a vid up too

As Bearzah asked... I'm curious, how do you have your timing set up?

I'm finally a proud member

Thanks for all the good words guy's, Bad83 thanks for the badge of honor and sorry to hear your not going to deals this year, Hey Donnie I'll gladly let you ride, Hopefully I'll have my clutch done by deals and not mess anything up. It slips in third, fourth and fifth are going to be really bad. I still have to fab up some perminent hangers for the exhaust so i've only got it up to third gear. I don't want to loose anything out on the hwy. Need to tighten it up aswell, I have a coulple of exhaust leaks.

In the video I was holding the camera with my right hand, trying to steer (non power) and shift with my left hand and talk, all while trying not to go off my twisty little road(I'm definitely not a multi-tasker

As far as timing goes, it's slightly retarded with the vac and mech still intact, I've upped the output on the omp and i'm running 104 octane booster. The days I've run the car have been very cool, but I'm planning to tack weld some stops on the dizzy to limit the advance to 15 deg total. I wan't to keep the vac and mech hooked up for better driveability and startability. I'm keeping the boost @ 8psi so I don't foresee a problem.

Do you mind posting a pic of your fuel pump area and how your -6an line hooks up to the fuel pump? Thanks
