Honda's...argh

this happened last august. i just get these rages against hondas every now and then and so now i feel like explaining why i hate them. here goes.

well my friend needed a diff engine for his caviler. so i found a rusted olds calias. it had a HO quad 4 in it. i got it for $100. luckey me well i was driving it home with my gf in the passenger seat and my best frined and his gf in the back seat. i'm sitting in an interesction waiting to turn left. all the sudden i llok the the right to see a 89 black honda civic about 10 ft from my car. i started to move forward to get outa the way but i got maybe a foot and bammmmm. all i remmebr is my hand going threw the center console. i looked to my right at my gf. she had blood coming down from her right shoulder. i told her get out. i was kinda stunded. then i remembered my friends in the back. i turned around and saw nothing but blood all over the rear window. i jsut about threw up. zack(my best friend) was looking at mary(his gf) say"we have to get out, the other car is on fire" it then dawned on me as i went to tell cassie to get out that she was out cold. first thing that came to my mind was she was dead. i flipped. i ran to the side of the car that the honda hit and pulled and pulled on the door to get it open. i fell on my *** as i ended up riping the door away(thx god it was a rust bucket of a car). cassie(my gf) then woke up. first thing she did was scream like non-other. i got her to the side of the road which ended up was where the car was sitting. i looked and i had tire marks from my car sliding for a good 15 ft. i then thought about the honda and the ppl in it. i saw one person on the ground and the other about ready to pass out. then i saw all the paramedics there. i hadn't even noticed them showing up. they took the person on the ground and the driver of the other car and then came for cassie and mary. i rode with my friends zach to the hospital. i noticed my wrist was swelling up like non-other. i asked a doc when i got there. i was broke in 2 spots. my gf cassie had a collapsed disk and a gash on her arm. mary was in the most pain. they had to remove a **** load of glass from her face. little tiny pieces. zach had a few bruises. i decided to ask the cop that was there how the ppl from the honda were. he said that one was eject from her seat and went trew the windshield. you can jsut imagine. the other girl that was driving had some head injury but other than that was ok. i thought the horror story was over. but NOooooooooooooo. it dawned on me, 'why is this cop still here. he took our statments and stuff, what's he waiting on?" so i asked. he handed me a ticket for, get this, failur to yeild. i was like WTF but i didn't say anything. i went back in the room with my gf. i had just had my cast for my arm finish like an hour ago. all the sudden i see this really pissed off guy walking towards me. he walks up and starts yelling at me. turns out that he's the b/f of the passenger. real big guy. well i'm still sitting ther trin to figure out what happened a few hours ago at the intersection. so my gf cassie starts defending me. then all the sudden i hear him say "shut the **** stupid bitch." then he truns to me "no one wants to here what your *** guzzling gutter ***** was to say." i snapped and with out even thinking. i got up and took the arm with the cast on it and rammed it in the guys face. i dont' rememebr what else happened except the cop giving me another ticket for "aggrivated assualt". well a month later i went to court over my failur to yeild ticket. it was dropped. i was like YESSSS! i had to sit down with the driver of the other car and the city auturney. she sat us down and said well this is te deal. she said "we had a physist take a look at the accident. we found that this is what happened. first listen then make any comments or questions you have. first we found that you ran a red light lisa(driver of the honda). we also found that you were speeding. witnesses say you were weaving in and out of traffic. and you failed to yeild the right of way to Jerad(thats me). Jerad you didnt' have insurence for obvious reasons, you just bought the car 10 mins ago. Lisa you however do not have an excuse for not having insurence. ok now lisa you look the most...concerned. what do you have to say?" she says "I wasn't speeding" the auturney goes "realy? ok say that each person wieghs about 150. that means your car is 2500 lbs + 2 ppl making it 2700 lbs. that also means that his car is 3100lbs + 4 ppl making it 3700. explain to me how your car pushed his car 22 ft sideways if you wern't speeding." lisa was speachless. a cop walked in and issued her 5 tickets and took her license. the tickets were... runing a red light, speeding, wreckless driving, failur to yield and no proof of insurence. i was then told it was a good thing i moved that 1 foot gorward b/c it caused her to hit my center post. if i hadn't cassie would probably be dead.

well 3 months after the accident i was able to get my car back, it had been sitting in the tow yard getting rained and rained on. most of the blood ad washed away. suprising the hell outa me, it started up and moved kinda. well i towed it home and started my engine removal. cassie came over and told me she was leaving me. she still blaimed me for the accident. she still talks to me now but o well, can't win it all. i ended up with a few medical bills to pay for after the accident. i think all i paid was $1200 out of the accidents net cost of $137,000. that includes cars and med bills. scariest thouhgt was thinking my gf was dead when i sw she was unconious. well heres a few picks of the car in the tow yard. the side is pushed in about 2 ft and the front passenger seat i beat counter clockwise.

a few months later i ran across a deal for the 7 i have now. i'll be posting pics and everything i've done to it soon.

i hate honda's

*gasp*... that may be the saddest story i have ever heard. I don't give a rat's *** that you had ur ticket dropped... the FACT that you had to go through ALL OF THAT because of one STUPID **** not only aggrivates me, but it gives me an urge to hit the closest honda with altezzas with a lead pipe. Its utter idiocy. If people would go "Yup... that was my fault... i was stupid i shouldnt' have been speeding and retarded..." that would b one thing... but with their twisted arrogant self-denial minds, they manipulate everything so that they are the good guy with no driving skills and no brain. Man... i dunno what i would've done if i were you. That is the shittiest story i have heard in a long time... makes me have more of a hatred towards honduhs... yes i know it shouldn't, but 90% of these ****** would do teh exact same thing and denying that is denying the god damned truth.

one other thing. if you notice in the first pic the car seems to be siting at a slant. it's b/c the drivers side wheels both got bent under. and the chunk of metal stickin out the side is from the honda. she left me a nice chunk that gows threw and is stuck in the passenger seat. i donno WTF that metal was for on the honda. well as my friend put it "it's better not to ask, it's a honda. it's like asking why the hell they would make something as rediculus as V-TEC when they could have just put in different cams and had more power in the lower end. it's a honda, don't ask."
thx for listening to my sob story. i think i have the best reason in the world to hate Honda's

This is a lounge topic, not a first gen specific topic. I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, I'm just saying keep topics where they belong. That is terrible what happened though, but you can't tell me you haven't driven stupid a few times since you've had your license. I'm speaking to everyone that has posted. I'm guilty of it, and i'm sure most of you are to.

Dont hate Hondas, hate the drivers.

I'm sorry about your girlfriend leaving you. Your concern for her safety shows you really did care. I hope all of you will be allright, a collapsed disc in the spine is no laughing matter. My stapmother still has pain from the pinched nerve that she got from a collapsed disc in an accident over 15 years ago. She also has 6 metal screws and a bone graft done to support her back. She was also in a huge boat of an Oldsmobile.

Hmmm. The Quad 4 engine as I believe was a bitch and a half to work on. My buddy had one in his 95 Grand Am. Good luck working on it.

This is true, but i live in the sticks... in the mountains. This is where my spirited driving occurs... but IF something WERE to happen (yes i have had the cops call me telling me of numerous complaints of the 2 ppl who live on teh road) i would take full responsibility. The point i was trying to make was not that we dont' make mistakes, but that we should suffer the consequences for them no matter what and take responsibility.

It was also a female driver, it seems most female drivers try to lie like that, Not just the female specific honda driver's. Most honda driver's are actually pretty decent people, i hang out with a few of them, You've just got to get to know them before judging them.

OMG guys. i just got my insurence bill for the first time sense i've had my 7. i decided seems how i'll finaly be able to drive it next weeek that insurence would be a good thing. i asked how much just liability would be and then i was gona add stuff from that price. the cheapest that i could find for 6 months was $950, just libility. it's a 84 rx-7 gsl-se. i asked why so much b/c i knew out of all the tickets i've got for entering in speed contests, only 2 of them have stuck. they said, it's the accident your were in. i'm like WTF. it wasn't my fault, i wasn't even ticketed. they said "nebraska law states that both parties are guilty in any car accident. dosen't matter if you were just .1% and the other person 99.9%. you're still some what at fault. therefore you can't claim it is a no fault accident." i was sooo pissed. i just can't get away from that accident.

to address the people and honda drivers. i'm not saying i hate the ppl. i just don't like the cars b/c the 2 things i saw b4 the car hit me was my g/f face and then a big honda H symbol. every time i see one of those symbols i see the scared shitless face that cassie had. i don't think anyone will be able to understand it but i hope it explains it a little.

jsut tired of all the **** i go threw over the accident even though i wasn't at fault.

i lost my g/f and bestfriend over it. some good parts. a lot of mony and i'm still dealing with it b/c of my insurence. it's a lot of bs that i'm just tired of. and all i rememebr is a nice shiny balck 89 honda civic with it's **** chrome H on the hood smacking my life to ****. i guess everyone has there problems but i just felt like complaining.

i'm really not that pissed about and it happened over a year ago. the whole insurence issuse just brought it all back. i just needed to vent somewhere to someone who hadn't seen it all on the 6 o'clock news.

They reported it on the news? I guess Lincoln really is small town.... It would have to be a nasty pile up, stopping traffic for an hour to get any recongnition here in the Salt Lake area.

Hey, you should be GLAD it was a Honda and not a 5 foot tall 100 pound blond woman on a cell phone in an H2 or Excursion.

But yeah, your situation sucks. Hope it improves. But no reason to hate Honda drivers..

I am not quite sure why this makes us hate Hondas. Not that we don't, but That driver could have been driving any other car with the same effects. Granted, the driver was a careless bitch, but her car was not the one doing the thinking.

Please keep these threads in the lounge, if you will. See what O 16581 72452 5 said Not to mention, the car you were in wasn't even an RX-7 at all, much less an fb.

don't blame the car, blame the driver AND our 'traffic cops' more concerned with speeding tickets than actually ticketing the dangerous drivers.

I am glad everybody survived the accident. or did they? You didn't mention the fate of the person that was ejected.(?)
Ok, for one thing there is no such thing as an ACCIDENT. Every crash is the fault of one or more drivers, be it driving too fast for conditions, or driving too stupid for driving ability. Even in mechanical failures, either the vehicle's last mechanic is liable, the part manufacturer or the driver for not servicing their vehicle properly or driving with known problems.
Your Nebraska insurance law BITES. What about being rear ended while stopped? Does the insurance expect you to take a quick vertical flight to avoid somebody rear ending you?
The only real problem you have is not having prior insurance. This may the the REAL reason for the high premium quote. But after one year of coverage, it should come down considerably. Have you shopped around for other insurance quotes? Maybe check premiums for other old/cheap cars?

(oh, and NO COMMENT on women and car 'accidents'. My truck was hit by a semi driven by a woman only two weeks after I purchased it NEW, and I was STOPPED ON THE HIGHWAY LAYING ON THE HORN WHEN SHE HIT ME. Amazing how all these trucks (that couldn't possibly have seen the accident) stopped to be 'eye witnesses', and told the cop that I slammed the side of my truck into the front of her semi. I came soooo close to hitting a few people in front of an officer. Just because you might be cute and have a soft wet hole, doesn't give you extra priveledges on the road. A friend's ex was driving his FB and wrecked it while drunk- the cop that just happened to be her next door neighbor- wrote my drunk and passed out friend as the driver. He won in court- but it cost $$$$$$$$$$)

and remember, if it don't kill you, it makes you stronger.

peace, Bryan.

double post.

Oh, and I don't hate Hondas (hate is a strong word), but I very much do not like people who think they are cool or smart just because they drive a certain car. I still can't understand why Mazda didn't catch this wave better than Honda, with the awesome turbo 323s and 626s of the late 80's. I guess the number of available used cars is way more important than the actual car.
