I had a little computer trouble and lost the progress pics, I will put somthing together so you can see how I did it. I have thought about a spoiler but havn't come up with a design yet. Someone suggested changing the rear lights and I have thought about a spoiler and light change possibly.

bump would like to see pics, great work i like the flares maybe a littler rounding oppose to the flat look would look better the back end is not hat bad and the front could use maybe some fog lamps or maybe air holes but great craftmanship +5 keep up the good work not many people out there doing stuff for our cars , and yes a mold would be great. i would love to have that kit.

Beings my old thread got bumped I thought I'd post some pics with paint. My project is on hold, after I work on the car for awhile I have to drive it for a few months cause it's to much fun. I used the rustoleum professional from the $50. paint job thread only I sprayed it.

Awesome job and more props for doing it from scratch. You said the rear was the hardest, but i think the rear came out the best. I'm curious on what material you used to do the body espeically the rear. My FC had a custom molded body and is similar to yours by the way the rear is, it was damaged since i bought it and would like to know how you molded and ect. Thanks- nick

Take it out in a empty parking lot and do some shots at fender height, I'd like to see it with out the shadows, cloudy day is the only way to shoot a black car.

I used styrofoam as a base/mold. Styrofoam is easy to shape and sand with a shurform and sandpaper. I glued the foam to the underside of the car with 77 spray glue- shaped and sanded the shape. I used epoxy resin and light fibreglass woven mat for the first coat on the foam then switched to standard resin for 3 more layers. the epoxy resin won't eat the foam standard resin will. Then I pulled the foam and backed it with a mix of chopped fibreglass/ epoxy/ and micro balloon filler. This system gives you good flex but no vibration.
I will get some better pics in the open.
The paint is not flat black but it needs to be color sanded, thats how the rustoleum paint came out. Maybe the amount of thinner I had to use to spray it knocked the shine. I think it will shine up good tho
