Holley FPR question

I bought a Holley Fuel Pressure Regulator, Holley PN 12-803, and have a quick question before I install it tomorrow.

It has a Single Inlet, and Dual Outlet (for 2 carbs). Somehow I overlooked that fact, but it may be advantageous. The car is an 84 GSL-SE that has been carbed. Right now, it has a single inlet, dual outlet fuel filter (one to carb, one to return line). I was curious if I could run one of the outlets on the FPR to the Carb, and the other to the return line? Or would that cause the pressure to drop off, defeating the purpose? The instructions make no mention of it, just say for single carbs, plug one side and use the other.

Anyways, here's a link to the pressure reg.

Thanks!

You plug off 1 side or put a gauge on it. The Holley FPR has 1 inlet and 2 outlets.

The fuel return line is for the fuel to return to the tank.
