Holley broke, need HELP
the corner of the carb that you put over the bolt on the manifold, broke off, and did it far enough to create a fuel leak.
the carb is less then 3 months old, just purchased from racing beat.
im assuming they will refund, but ive not yet talked to them as they havent opened up this early in the morning.
has anyone dealt with product damage and racingbeat customer service?
if they dont replace or refund, how should i go about getting this fixed?
thank you for all the help

If they wont exchange, youll need to buy a new base. Or buy a whole carb that matches cheaply off ebay and use the baseplate to fix yours. No need then to swap over all the stuff. Damn crappy made Holleys.

thanks for the advice carl, if you could go into more detail about the base, ive got no previous carb experience, ive never pulled it apart or anything.
it seems like they SHOULD exchange it, but should and will are two different things.

How did it break? Did you over torque it?
Anyway, with these Racing Beat Holleys, and their bastard secrecy about the "mods" that they do to these carbs, you can not be certain that a standard base plate off of a Holley of the same model will really be the same thing. You won't get any info out of RB as to wether or not they do somehow modify the base plate, which makes them the only source of the exact part you will need.
If it comes down to it, and they don't replace the base plate for free, and you don't feel like purchasing a new one. You can go to an experienced (very good) welder and have them weld that ear up. If they do a good job it should work out with no problems.

Sorry to hear about your broken holley. What caused your problem wasnt a defective part. Either it was tightened down unevenly or over torqued, neigther RB will warrenty. The more bad news part is that carb is a 465 cfm unit thats no longer made. I've owned one and researched this extensively. The good news that main body is steel and can be welded. To what degree of success depends on the welder. More good news all of racing beats mods to that carb are in the metering blocks not that main body. If you do get lucky ...very lucky and find a 465cfm holley you could easily swap out the main body. I suggest sourcing a good welding shop as I know racing beat wont help you. Check with racers at a autocross event to find a shop thats use to working on car related parts and has high quality welders and people with lots of experience. Good luck ,custom13B

got it taken care of.
the base plate broke, i found one from a holley double pumper 650, did the machining that racing beat does to match the carb.
and it feels more responsive and quite a signifigant power gain to boot thanks ot the bigger bore size on the 650

What size was the carb origionally? The 650's have larger throttle bores on the throttle plate than both the 465 and the 600. It bolts to your manifold ok and you have full range use of both throttles?
