Holley 465 questions.

i'm at work so i'll have to wait til i get home to post pix for ur question on how to hook up the omp lines to the float bowl. don't really know for sure as for how to tell if it's a rb carb but the 465 i have does have that vent(what i call it) at the top of the primary bowl, that one that's activated by the throttle linkage. altho the 600 from rb doesn't have that. i think it's a 1/16 fitting that will screw into the site plug on the primary bowl for the omp line. at the pump end i used a T vac fitting in the shape of an "F" then flipped upside down to convert the two out from the pump into one, then up to the fitting in the primary bowl. if u still need pix i'll post them later.

Premix is the right way if you ask me.
Correct, a real RB Holley should already have the fitting for the OMP lines. Other than that, I think the jets that it comes with are all that differentiate it. Could be wrong, though.

Your OMP lines are hooked up (the lines running into the carb in picture #4). I have to ask, as I have had a 465 on a previous car, what fuel pump are you running?
Holleys like 6psi of pressure. I was running a RB 465 kit with premix, Holley blue pump, FPR, and a gauge from Billy at ReSpeed. I did run a return line to my tank, which helps a lot. What is your fuel system setup? Pump? FPR? Pressure? Feed or feed and return lines? What kind of oil are you using for the premix?
When I ran 128:1 (1oz/gallon) my eyes would start to sting after 1/2 hour, as I think the richest the OMP ever mixes is 150:1 at WOT.

The two clear lines going into the carb with the rubber boots on them in picture 4 are OMP lines. Are they cut and sealed off?

Stock fuel pump was just under 3psi (if I remember correctly) from the factory. Even if you're running the wrong jets, you should be running lean, not rich, with a stock fuel pump.

the only thing that should be plugged in is the throttle cable, there should be a vacumm line, and a fuel line, then a choke if u have it. ok on the front of the float bowl, towards the front of the car their is a float check plug. unscrew it or pop it or(different models have diff fittings) tap a 1/4 inch thread hole and get a 1/4 inch to a barbed nipple fitting(idk the exact name) and screw that in. of course u ar gonna have to take of the bowl so u can get all of the shaving out. well then u plug the omp line into the barbed nipple fitting and the oil goes into the carb along with the fuel. ill try to get some picks up if i have some but its gonna be difficult since im oversees hahaha. well if u have a ? just ask

ok so i found some old pics i had on my hard drive of back wen i first started realy messin with my car. ok so there is one big vacum into the intake manifold, 2 vacumm lines that are t fitted together coming from distributor going to the metering block of the carb, the fuel line, i have an air choke so that is wut the copper line is, and the the omp line that is going into the float bowl. now i know some of these pics are taken with my supercharger on but it is still the same (1 vac in the intake blah blah blah) hope this helps

try removing all the plugs and letting it crank over for bout a good 3 seconds the cut it off put the plugs back in ( for best of luck and performance i use ngk competition (make sure they are the ones with 4 electrodes)) and then crank it. it just sounds like it flooded too much. once u get it running u shud tune that carb bc running rich will flood it very easily. if u continue to have problems but it acts like it wants to start pull the plugs back out and crank it then put them back in pump the gas 3 times and crank it and hold down the peddle

ok i can work with this I THINK hahaha. ok 1st the 2 lines that u have that come from the omp, make it one line by putting a t fitting on it and then connect it into the line withe the silver adapter going into ur float bowl(pic#4). 2nd the 2 cut lines that are on the distributor vents or wutever they are called lol connect them together with a T fitting and run it to the metering block (the line with a screw in it on pic #4) 3rd thing ur choke is an electric choke so dont worry bout the copper line i was talking about ur ok in that area. 4th it looks like u have major oil and fuel leaking problems it could be coming out of the float vents on the top of the barrels when u mash on it ( adjust the floats to where the fuel fills up only half of the float bowl , holleys werent made for turns so it can slush out, an easy way to adjust it quickly is to unscrew that silver adapter piece and adjust the floats til fuel is even with the bottom of that whole (it should not come out)then do the same with the other side float bowl as well). 5th there is a vent line on the oil tube dont worry bout it just let it hang to the ground. 6th a big thing to remember a clean engine is a happy engine hahahaha its ok to hit it with a pressure washer as long as u cover the car with a trash bag or something lol............... i cant tell do u have a big vac line going into the intake manifold if i could get some pics of the back side of the carb and the firewall behind it that would be awesome. ok man hope this helps

yeah man ok everything else looks ok just plug in those lines like i said and everything SHOULD be better...... all ud have to do after that is tinker with the carb ie: adjusting. HOLLEYS NEED ALOT OF LOVE hahahaha but wen u get them right u cant beat em
