high rpm fuel cutout?
when taking my car on the freeway i can climb through 1st and 2nd gears just fine all the way to 7k but when i put it in 3rd gear and take it to 5k or higher it bogs down and stutters like its not getting enough fuel.
also if i step on it all the way in any gear i get the same problem as well as some engine lag.
could my mixture be set too high and dumping too much fuel or are my secondaries just not opening? While driving in town it does fine but i shift at 4k and drive more or less like an old lady driving a cadillac
when i had the smog test done all my levels looked gorgeous but my HC came back at 100.
carby has been rebuild about 3k ago and the fuel filter is brand new (i thought my ff got clogged again so i changed it)

well, i leaned it out and it did well on the city streets. there is a straight away in front of my house and i floored it there and it did fine. no fuel cutout or anything but when i took it on the freeway onramp and floored it it did fine all the way up until 3rd gear again and started to stutter like it didn't have fuel. currently i have 3/4 tank of gas and car is completely warm.

Weak fuel supply will cause this. Anything from a weak pump, crud buildup in the lines, kinked rubber hose, or even crud in the inlet screens of the carb.
Do a flow test. Only way to know if you are getting adaquant fuel supply to the carb.

Changing the fuel mix at the screws, changes the idle and some low speed mix. If you want to change high rpm fuel mix, you need to rejet. That is an fyi, not a how too. I agree with Rogue, your fuel supply is probably weak. Are you still running the origional pump?
If you are going to run old parts hard, replace or upgrade them.

for now i am running original parts...kinda...my fuel pump went out about 2 months ago and i didn't have the money to upgrade or even buy a new part so i pulled the pump off of my other fb lol. won't be able to upgrade with a FPR and FPG and carter until after i come back from japan in feb, but it is definately on the top of my list of things to do.
the car was in pretty bad shape when i bought it but it is doing 95% better now after about 7 months of replacing/swapping parts but this is the only real problem left as far as running goes.

Yeah, probably fuel pump, even though if your gas tank is real dirty, it could be fuel filter again. Like RW said, do a flow test. How? Do a search. Or RTFM. Trochoideous, why didn't you include your sig in your post? there's the links this young fella needs.

Nah, he's got over 200 posts and has done a lot of work on his car. If he can't find the FSM in the archives by now, I can't be of much help. LOL. Sounds like he has down what he needs to do.
If the problem persists, the fuel pickup line in the tank may be clogging.

Fuel filter was also my first thought, but then I saw that the filter is brand new so.... Hmm, you haven't tampered with your float settings have you? Probably time to upgrade the fuel pump. Check this thread for decent information on what to get and how to do this: https://www.rx7club.com//showthread.php?t=529605
