? High pressure oil reg ?
I know if you shim and old skool rear oil pressure reg an 1/8th" you can easily increase you oil pressure dramatically.
But since the new one cant be taken apart, I have heard you can hammer a new skool rear oil pressure reg on the tip and flatten it and end up with the same results? Has anyone heard of this or even tried it?
Iam thinking about trying it? I have already flattened one of my rear oil pressure regs and in the middle of a rebuild!
Any thoughts?

sorry but Its not a a theory. I've done both ways. Your way of smashing the end and the other wherein I actually installed a "PIN or cotter pin". But I prefer the pre-81 with removable cap.
I havent done it lately due to the ability of 3rd gen ROPR

The $20 ones they are talking about are the fd's ropr.
Old skool is, I think pre 79 or so? If you see it and it has a nut type top you can unscrew, that it!

To my knowledge you cant buy the old skool ones cheap, any ones I have found are expensive, unless you get one from someone?

will the FD front oil pressure regulator fit the older engines? i ask because i figured since you need to shim the front regulator when using the RB racing rear regulator and the FD pressures aren't TOO much less, then it may need to have changes made to the front as well, eh?

i'm asking i went out today with the intentions of ordering one and after a mind-numbing exchange with the guy, who did not seem that interested by the way, he told me it was $39 for it (he gave me part number N3AI-14230 for it)
on the subject of the FD front regulator i was too disgusted to get a price, but it was suggested to me that Mazda probably just shimmed it from the factory. so for what it's worth, if the price is comparable to the rear, then, at least to me, it makes sense to just buy both of these parts when you're building a high performance engine.
any other thought?

i think i read that it's rated at 115 PSI, but i may be mistaken. hopefully this will get an actual figure on this issue.
FD Oil Pressure Thread
from where? $39 was what i was told today and i saw $29 in one of the FD threads i just searched (may have been the one i linked, but can't remember). i'd be interested in pursuing this $20 one because i am short on coin right now ...
