High Beams - Question

High Beams - Question
Hi Everyone;
I have a 1982 RX7 - GX. Lately, when i push in to turn on the High Beams they do not come on, but when I pull back on the lever the High Beams work.
I would have to hold the lever pulled towards me to have the High Beams working but that's no way to drive.
Any ideas of what's wrong? The headlamps are obviously not blown. I think it's probably in the steering column somewhere that's not engaging a switch of some sorts.
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks

If you do it with Kentetsu's tutorial, make sure you have a magnet handy. You drop those small ball bearings and they can be rather hard to find in the carpet. Use some grease to get them to stick to the springs when your putting it all back together. I'm glad I finally did it, since now I actually have highbeams without having to hold the stalk in the flash to pass position.

Yes, get a can of cleaner that has the hose attachment, then just stick the hose into the inner workings and hose away. Work the lever through all of the adjustments, back and forth for a few minutes and you should be all set.
