Sence you are going to loose the spare anyway, Cut out the bracket for the jack.

Another way to make the snake board is to cut the slats, then glue or staple a heavy muslin on one side of them. That will give a better range of bends and you don't need to hassle with the snake board if the part left by the table saw break. Old trick for making roll top desk tambour doors.

You might even be able to use the fiberglass fabric instead of the muslin, then you will be ready to add resin to hold the shape.

Or can the sub fit in the spare tire spot? Or is it too tall? If I can get comfortable without having a spare thats my plan...

Looks GREAT!!! It's not much work to remove the jack holder, I did mine, then just epoxy'd a bit that opened up from the spot weld. I'd miss my spare tire on out of state rides though.

very creative, and as always nice job so far!

I have taken two jacks out, one with a screwdrive - Left holes at the spot welds, and one with a cut off wheel - left it nice and clean.

Spare tire subwoofer

Hey $100T2, your "how to's" are excellent! I admire your ingenuity!

Now, this is just a little subwoofer that fit's in my '91 VW Cabriolet. The trunk space is VERY small so it's the only size that's unobtrusive. No, it won't shatter the windows (only like 150 watts) but I thought I'd share anyway. It fits inside of the spare tire.

But if you want 1000w...here's my hippie van:

Hades12: do the girls really fall for the candy trick?
Haha! We actually bought this (on eBay) a few years ago to do that excellent "father/son spending time together" thing when my kid was in high school. We completely gutted the inside and "remodeled" as we went and learned (wiring/upholstery/woodworking). But...now that you mention it...he WAS pretty popular. Hmmm. I guess so.

Can you handle a night shot?

But at least it got him into old cars and his first RX-7!

PS. Sorry to hijack the thread.

Last I checked, it was 2,500 miles from where I live to where you live... So, my music can't annoy you, and your stupidity can't annoy me.

We both win.

I thought about that, but it would need a false floor to have it blend in because the spare tire well is only about 4" deep, and I wouldn't be able to take my sunroof off and leave it in the hatch. Or, if my GF and I go away for a weekend in the Sebey, where would our bags go? I think this way is the best way.

I'm off to build more Snake Board.

I have two 12's and a Fosgate 200ix (old school) that could handle the job of annoying him from that distance.

The only problem with those is, it's only a 6.5" cone. It will sound ok, but if you feel like having it LOUD, it's not gonna cut it.

The ultimate Snake Board. Yeah, I'm getting a little out of control with it, but it's just so damn perfect for doing the back of the enclosure.

I'm gonna get the 10s to fit, or I'm gonna die trying. Of course, I'm willing to lose the spare.

I'd love to have 10's, the 8's you can hear and feel real well. People don't belive its just a pair of 8's. But to many other projects. something your familiar with

Hey bro, Just so you know, you could cut on one side only if you needed. Just set the thickness that goes like 3/4 of the way through it. This is a trick you can use to get that smooth surface where you need.
