- Gas is going into the motor...
-there is small sucking from the intakes...
-gas is returning.. circulating...
-vacuum lines are all new..
-T-splits are used where necesary...
-RATS nest is gone..
-Air Pump is gone..
-i have many wires that are loose, what do i do with them?

starting from scratch would anyone be able to define it for me...
i can identify everything on these SU (Skinner Union) carbs, but im dumb fucked about where the vacuum lines go... thanks.. for EVERYONE who can give me just the most littlest info.. Aloha ...

Well, with no smog equipment and an aftermarket carb, you need only 1 vaccuum line. That's the brake booster vac line that plugs into the intake manifold.

A crankcase breather is reccomended, but no vac line needed. Just put a little k&n filter on one of the ports on the intermediate housing, either the one on or near the oil fill tube and plug the other one.

Besides that just plug or get rid of all the other vac lines.

Be sure any and all vaccuum ports on the intake manifold are either being used (brake booster) or plugged. Do you have oil in the top of the SU carbs?

As for all the loose wires that were for the rats nest and smog, if they unplug from the harness then do that. Otherwise, if there's no smog test ever for the Aloha State then cut them out.

Charcoal cannister is for the stock air filter to breate into and the gas tank to breathe into. Charcoal absorbs the gas odor.

I bet Mazda dealer never worked with SU's before at work! Mabye on the side..

Do you have the semi-recent Grassroots Motorsports article on SU carbs? If not I can scan it for you.

Are you getting spark? Motor still got compression?
