Question Help series 1 problems, no idea what to do

Hey, im a newbie, i bought a series 1 rx7, with a stock 12a,, the old guy i bought it off took good care of it and had a rebuilt engine in it

i had the car for about 2 months before it started stuttering a little, it only happend every now and then but definetly there, then gradually it got worse and worse, where it would even idle, i had to keep it at like 5000rpm to keep it running, and as you can imagine a 12a with a straight though exhaust running at 5000rpm in the middle of peak hour traffic would be damn embaressing,
after a day of that it just wouldnt start,

since then its been in my driveway rotting away cause i dont know what is wrong with it, please help

it didnt blow smoke before it died so i dont think its the seals
a friend of mine thinks it could be the fuel pump
could anyone help me and tell me some how i can check myself to make sure it isnt the seals that have blown, or maybe someone can tell me that this happend to them before and they can tell me what the hell has happend to my poor 12a

SOunds like you have a vacuum leak thats gotten progressively worse. The vacuum hoses are probably old and brittle. The biggest single culprit is usually the big hose on the drivers side of the carb that goes to an emissions valve (AAB) to the intake manifold. It sits near the hot exh manifold and tends to get cooked. It has a 90 degree bend on the bottom of it (thats usually whaere its cooked). Pull that off and look at it.
