Help me start my RX7
I have a 1985 12 A engine. Every summer I work on my car and it starts great. It is stored inside always. The engine was turning over slowly and would not start. I changed the battery and I try to jump start the car. It only clicks and the engine will not turn. For the past three years it starts every summer after storage. It did turn slowly but the battery wore down. Now it just clicks . Please help

Did you install a brand new battery or something you had lying around?
Also clean the cables, there may be too much corrosion or build up on the cables not allowing the voltage to go thru.

if the battery isn't new, take it down to Murray's/Auto Zone/whatever you have by you and have them check it. Also rip off the starter and have them check that as well.
Once you make sure those are in good shape, buy some new plugs, but don't install them.
Buy yourself a funnel with a rubber hose attached to the end and put ~2oz of motor oil in each of the leading plug holes. Replace the old plugs and turn the engine over 6 times with a ratchet and socket on the front pulley.
Pull all four plugs, clean them out with alcohol and a compressor with a blow gun attachment. Then hit them with an angle grinder with a wire brush on it (or if you don't have a grinder, just a good stiff wire brush)
Replace plugs and wires.
Reinstall the starter and battery
fire her up
let her get up to temp and drive around for a while with your old plugs to get rid of all the oil in the combustion chambers
shut her down and let her cool
replace plugs with new plugs.
restart and go on your merry way

Battery was from a wreckers and it was supposed to be charged? Wouldn't a boost turn the engine over. It always turns over. Lights are bright , all electrical works. Positive side does spark from the wire when I try and turn it over.

take your old battery to auto zone or what ever like the previous threads have posted and clean your battery terminals. If your starters clicking it usually means your battery doesnt have enough juice.

im guessing the old battery killed the starter. do as stated above and make sure all battery connections are TIGHT and CLEAN. repeatedly trying to start a car with a weak battery will kill your starter

true. you need to buy a new battery or pull one out of an already running car.
then you need to take out your lower plugs and take out the fuse for the fuel pump. turn the engine over a few times to get all the gas out. hold the throttle all the way open to allow more air in. then take out the top two plugs and clean off all four plugs as best as you can. reinstall them. MAKE SURE the wires are on the right plugs. to better help your case, but isnt definately needed, you can drip about a cap full of MMO or seafoam down each primary. you dont have to do that though.
now hook it all up. you know the battery is fine. MAKE SURE ALL CONNECTIONS ARE CLEAN AND TIGHT. pump the gas twice and hold it to the floor. try to start it.
let us know how this goes

Remove the wires from the starter, and clean all of the connections. Make sure the battery is fully charged, and jump start won't cut it. Towing is always an option, if its a manual tranny.
If flooded, see if you can find some Seafoam. A few caps full down the carb will usually do the trick...
