help me PLEASE!
okay, here is the whats happening. When the cars rmp is below 1000, so idling basicly, and i floor it, the rpms go up nice and fast and very smooth like. But when the rmps are at say 2000, so as if i had just shift in to a gear, and i floor it, the rpms go up at least half as fast, and if you bring the car up to like 2000 then relese the clutch and go its still very slow increasing. Once the slow climb reaches 5500 or so, it gets all its power back and the rpms go up fast just as they should. All this makes the car much less fun to drive and makes it a very slow accelerating car! Any one have an idea of how to fix this!?

Have you checked the basics, fuel filter, spark to both leading and trailing plugs, how old are the plugs, what brand, what about plug leads, how old are they.
What you're describing sounds like bad spark which leads to bad burn and low power until higher rpm forces higher spark.

you might be having trouble with your secondaries...check for vacuum leaks
this would cause the secondaries not to open cuz you have vacuum secondaries...which are supposed to open when you stomp on the gas to allow for extra air...and if you have vacuum leaks...you have extra gas...but no extra air...which = no power til the secondaries open...which will take longer cuz of the leak...

Actually a vacuum leak makes a lean condition. It leaks air in through someplace other than designed, and less fuel with more air won't have the volitle (sp) mixture you need to fire off the combustion phase.
I'd lean more toward the ignition system too, as aussiesmg stated, but checking for vacuum leaks wouldn't hurt.

What kind of fuel mileage are you getting?
Good mileage (18-22mpg city/highway) means that your vacuum secondaries aren't opening correctly, as above.
Bad mileage (14-16mpg city/highway) means that your carb is allowing too much fuel to get in and killing the correct air/fuel mixture below a certain RPM at which you have enough air for the fuel you're dumping.
You ARE keeping track of your mileage, aren't you???
