headlight question
So I just bought a FB the driver side healight is not coming up I was wondering if there was anyway to test the relay on it before having to buy a new motor for the healight. I have to drive this car 350 miles home in 2 days and a headlight is kinda important. =) Thanks for you advice

you can test it easially be removing the black connector and seeing if the headlight is even getting 12V to it. make sure the connector is plugged in and that the pins are clean. finally, you may want to inspect the headlight rods. there are two, a long and a short rod. the long rods tend to fail due to the plastic bushing crumbling. the rod will then fall off and the headlight will not raise. check those and check to see if the headlight is turning on but the motor is not raising the light bucket...

Headlight retractors have a plug that is shaped like an x. Left side is behind the battery. If you unplug this connector you can crank the light up and down by hand. There is a rubber cover on the top of the retractor motor. Under the cover is a **** which will raise and lower the retractors manually.
You must unplug the connector first.
Connector has four wires. White/red should have 12v at all times. Red/yellow should have 12v when headlights are down. Red should have 12v when headlights are up. Yellow/green connects the two retractor motors together.
