Thats a square peg into a round hole idea, if Ive ever heard one...
Try starting with a Miata specific kit.Its a LOT closer to the right shape and I GARUANTEE itll be cheaper than any FD kit...
MID TENN MIATA kit......no longer availible.Used Hella 90MM pods for ow beam to make it legal. For 20 bucks,a local plexi shop trimmed a bit off the edges of the lids to match the shape. And before you jump the gun.....no, a Miata sleepy eye kit wont bolt up.Been there, tried that. Its a mile off from working, and a good way to mangle 400 bucks trying.....

1G Miata.
They are all the same, 89 to about 96 I think.2G and 3G have fixed headlights.
Plexi shops could make the covers out of flat stock by just copying the FB steel lids. But the hard part would be making them with the natural curve of the hood(front to back).
Thats where the Miata kits is handy. The Miata hoodline has about the same curve and it matched up to the FB perfectly. The plexi shop only had to trim the edges to match the FB lid's outer shape.

Not sure about makes.Ive no doubt that there are a few out there due to the popularity of the 1G Miata.Youll just have to search.Mid Tenn Miata closed down recently due to retirement,so the kit I used is no longer availible.
BTW,anyone looking to do this kind of mod needs to know that there is precious little room to fit light fixtures under the lids, but still shoot out over the front header panel.
Also, some aftermarket kits (like MID TENN MIATA) come with poor, illegal, universal, auxilliary lights as the MAIN low and high beam lights. This will get you a ticket quick and its just plain unsafe.Thats why I choose to run Hella 90MM projector pods as my lowbeams. They are BIG,so I had to put them on the inside edge. They are also not cheap, but they are DOT legal and put out MUCH more light than the rectangular crap lights the kit came with....

Yeah I'm stealing Steve's headlights. Steve if your lights are missing one morning you know who has them LOL. There are drop in kits available although they are expensive. http://cpracing.ca/
