I have a similar but slightly different issue... My fumes only come in the cabin and make it hard to breathe when i have the windows open. Any ideas?

Been there done this...hope your health is OK now.

Here is the problem. You have leaks in the rear area of your car.......period!!

It is warming up and you are driving with your windows down! Doing this creats a vaccum in your car and pulls the exhaust fumes from the rear.

It ends up being OK if you roll your windows up, but down it is horrible.

OK...cheap way to fix it.. Go to Home Depot and go to the electrical section. Ask for some "duct seal" this is a clay like substance that electricians use to seal up electrical boxes.

Take your tail lights out and seal around the lenses and housing with this stuff. Roll it into noodle like pieces and use it like gaskets. Find any other leak spots like rust, hatch drains, rear valance piece openings, etc... seal away!

Your problem will be solved for about $5... I know... I did it!
