Hammering out wheel stud?

I have an 85 se and I heard you could just hammer the wheel stud out the back. Is that true? Thanks for the help

Sure it's true. If you remove the caliper, you can just rotate the hub and hit the stud with a sledge once it's under the caliper location. Turn 90 deg. and repeat. When you reinstall, just place them in there loosely with your finger, mount your wheel, and torque the nuts to seat the studs. If your studs are fully threaded, you can just seat them before the wheel goes on.

I'll second that. Just did it yesterday. Took me maybe 15 minutes with a seized bolt on the caliper.
