GSL swap for $200...

I have an '85 12A I'm putting together and I need some help/advice. I can get the rear end out of a GSL for $200. This would give me the LSD and disk brakes on the rear.

My question is should I swap the front hubs as well so I have 14" wheels all the way around? I just ordered Brembo brake rotors for the front. If I switch they won't fit, right? Should I wait until the Brembo's wear out then swap everthing or return the rotors and go for everything now?

How will the rear end swap affect shocks and sway bar? I want to upgrade those as well. Is there anything else I should be worried about?

Are you talking GSL or GSLSE?

To be honest. I don't know. I think the guy has both. What is the diffenence btw GSL and GSL-SE?

This page doesn't have a GSL.

Is there a more complete comparision? I'd like to find one for the 2nd gen too.

I posted that link in my reply. That list shows the GSL-SE and the base model, not the GSL.

Unless I'm missing the boat and the base model is the GSL.

HAHAHAA HOLLY ****, im stupid... (way to read shawn)

okay sorry about that. First what you need to do is figure out which your getting.. The gsl will have the same bolt pattern as the s and gs. THe gsl-se will have the wider spread bolt pattern, larger discs, and i belive the rear brake rotor's are vented. Im not really clear here on the brakes that you ordered. I looked pretty damn hard, and i dont belive that brembo makes brakes for 1st gens. maybe your thinking of bonez? Either way, the front brake rotors on 1stgens are a single peice rotor/hub.

The guy I talked with at Carbotech said he had a listing for the 12A '81-'83 and then a listing for '84-'85 that didn't specify the motor/model. Mine is an '85 so I told him to screw what the book had and order the '85.

I believe the link we both posted said the brakes changed in '84 to the vented disks and larger size.

Can anyone tell me what the difference between a GSL and GSL-SE is?
