GSL-SE rear end conversion

Currently, I'm in the middle of a deal of buying a GSL-SE LSD rear end from brake to brake. I want to convert from my stock SA drum brakes to the -SE disk brakes. What I wanted to know was, for the switch is it a direct bolt on, or will it require some custom work. So if anyone knows, please fill me in. Thanks

It is a direct bolt on you'll need GSL-SE e-brake cable for the calipers.

Yep,directly bolts into the pickup points...but for the particulars, youll need....

Disc parking brake cables.
A brake line thread adaptor for the fluid hardline.S/A's had different pitch lines.
The driveline flange is different.
Any 110MM wheels will not bolt up,the SE is 114.3MM.
The SE axle/brakes are a bit wider,so youll have to get wheels with a little more negative offset,or roll the fender lips if the tires rub.

You will need the driveshaft from a 83 1/2 on up with the larger bolt pattern. Also will need new rear wheels because the bolt pattern is different. It is also reommended that you upgrade master cylinders to one that came with rear disc brakes. These are some of the things that are not considered when doing the swap.

And as far as the bolt in, as bumblebee7 stated you will need the Se ebrake cables also.
Everything else is straight forward.

You don't need to update master cylinder, just the distribution block from a car with rear disc. The pressure bias is different with rear disc. I just swaped an 84 GS with a 84 GSL-SE, it was a direct bolt in with no changes in axle width, and the drive line bolted right up.
The parking break cable swap was the hardest thing.
