GSL-SE random misfire solved!
Ok so after much time of me trying the same old tricks and testing things over and over I found the problem. Any one else who can’t seem to find the reason for random misfire the mechanism for timing advance has a spring that broke inside the distributor. The timing would jump and change depending on how the guts would slam into each other. So if anyone checks the rotor and there is extra play then you might be like me. Also anyone who has a SE dizzy they would sell me please PM me. I also will consider the 12a one but the advance is different.

great find.
have you checked the usual suspects (like MSD, Pertronix or the like) for a potential replacement?
i guess a more likely scenario would be getting a match from one of these assorted boxes:

Yea I’m not sure the exact shape of the spring yet as mine was in at least 4 parts and all smashed to no end. I have a 12a Dizzy in the mail and one member is checking there inventory for a 13b dizzy. I know the spring has to be exactly the same as it’s what gives the timing centrifugal advance. The 12a and 13b might actually just have different spring rates for the different timing advance curves. I personally don’t have the time or patience to find the correct spring replacement. Maybe when I’m on SS and have more time. Thanks for the advice though if I had more time I might consider it.
