I don't really fancy the color myself, but I don't mind it either. If it was Silver or White it'd probably cost a couple $k more and/or already be sold. I'll leave it all original and put some CLASSIC plates on it in 2 years.

I have a brown/brown, (the 'Turd'), 85 GSL that I've been sitting on for nearly 4 years . I actually like the color and someday it will most likely be my DD, after body work, paint and a few more mods.

Good point. I'm having trouble getting mine to pass inspection. It's just barely
high on HC (I think). I changed out my O2 sensor, and got the computer's temp
sensor in the radiator (the lower one) hooked back up, so maybe that will help.
It's also running cool (I've already changed out the thermostat), so I may put a
piece of cardboard in front of the radiator, since a search of this forum didn't turn
up any other suggestions.

Let me know when you get yours...

Frank

this is all very good info...I guess when the time is right and things are in your favor you can get a great deal.

my 1985 SE was bought for $2700...with 101K miles on it....basically the first owner, the guy bought it off a kid after only 1/2 a year of ownership and the car still has the CA BLUE plates on it. Now that is OG! it currently has 102.5K miles on it.

I know the guy was not an "enthusiast" since I have a stack of PEP BOYS receipts that came with it! I also actually had a PINK SLIP for the title of the car. Very cool. Plus my car is a somewhat "rare" combo..it is WHITE with the GREY interior...very few out in the wild with that combo. The only issues was the car was repainted thank god white again but it was an Earl Sheib special for $300. The factory radio was changed out and the usual bumps and dings you would expect. No accidents and all stock. I am very happy with my purchase.

I've offered $3,000 for it, they've graciously accepted. I'm going to get the transfer setup tomorrow. I found out the car has the two original keys and the owners manual too.

I was suppose to call tonight but we spent the entire night fighting a 2-story structure fire. I'm glad their patient.

Looks like a very nice car and $3,000 is a bargin. I bought my 85 GSL SE about a month ago for $2,200, but the condition was not nearly as nice and it had 98k. The extra $800 for the condition and mileage of your car is money well spent. Congrats!

Yeah.. it's my first choice of color by a long shot. But at this price and mileage I can't pass it up.
