GSL-SE Idle problems again
Hi Everyone,
I just purchased this car a few months back so a fuel injected rotary is new to me. I had a 1983 12A before this. When I got the car, it idled fine. I took off the UIM to clean out the fuel injectors and now it idles fine at start up (800) but once I get on the road, it will surge between 1000 and 1800 rpm. When I depress the clutch, it will hold a steady 2000 RPMs.
I cleaned the BAC valve according to the threads in this forum and that seemed to improve it a little. Now it surges between 1000 and 1500 and takes longer before it exhibits the problem. Depressing the clutch no longer holds the idle steaey at any RPM. I did clean out the UIM manifild with carburetor cleaner while it was off so I'm thinking this has something to do with it.
I lubed the throttle plates and checked all vacuum hoses. I checked the TPS and at idle it's about 492 ohms and at WOT reads about 2450 ohms. On the way up I do get one point where it reads OL on the multimeter.
Does this mean a bad TPS?
Also, does anyone know whether a TPS from other years are interchangeable with this model year?
Thank you so much!!
