if you want instant cheaper results, swap to a carb. you could get a fuel management system if you want to keep fuel injection. i assume youre running the S4 intake and throttle body.

better tires, launch, and practice make a world of difference. try presetting your suspension by holding the ebrake when youre up on the line while holding the clutch on the edge. youll feel the car "lean" forward. when you drop the ebrake, clutch, and slam the gas youll shoot off. i also read in a C&D magazine that if you roll up until your tire is only infront of the farthest light thatll itll shave you some time. play with your tire pressure.

also, i think you should be doing faster than a 15.8. elevation, temp, weather, etc are factors though.

i run a 15.0 @92mph. Car weighs 2465 with me and a quarter tank of gas. Only mods are full exhaust, 48 dhla carb, msd 6a, 26 degree total timing advance, and 4.88 rear gears. ( The rear end is for sale ).

No way your GSL-SE weighs 2465 with you in it, unless you've seriously gutted it. Mine weighed out at 2640 with me in it, and I'm 200lbs. That was when it was bone stock too!

Open cone flter- I noticed a big gain from this with my SE.
Adapter here: http://fc3spro.com/CATALOG/PARTS/parts.html.

Clean intake manifold, remove 6ports and rods- I also noticed a nice gain up top from this.

I have a S4 intake, MAF and the ecu as well as coils, was reading some other threads about this swap. Your writeup was light on details on the conversion.
Care to share?

Where did you get your s4 intake? What was the cost? Will it work on mine? How much extra power did you feel?

basically search for information on the kia sportage gear option. aside from that, youll need some form of power adder or a good port. But that will still require some tuning methods which will require more money because of the 12v maf signal that doesnt exactly get along with most SAFC style equipment.
