gsl-se carb? or fi?

I have a buddy with a streetported gsl-se and he is thinking about getting a weber for it do you think you would make more power with the stock fi or with a weber for the six port 13b in it.

motor is ported
has direct fire
and a few other little things basically Im just curious which will make better power

And what carb/intake should he buy and from were
thanks guys

A well tuned carb will make more power than the stock FI.

My Holley 600 double pumper is a ******* nightmare. weber is the way to go.

It's fresh from racing beat. Just, more trouble than it's worth.

Ok, I have a question. I just got a sweet deal on a Racing Beat intake for a 4 barrel carb. The only mods to my 83 gsl 12a is a custom Apc exhuast with a Pacesetter Header, and a worked over Nikki. I have heard alot of crap about the Holley carbs and wonder If a Edelbrock would be better. I know jason child is the tread starter, but I just get facinated about all the (DRAMA) over what would be best to use. Any more imput on this would be highly appreciated.

yea IDA's are the jam from what i have seen.

if it's an rb setup 600 then pfffttttt. i know they dont use a powervalve and the basic jetting is 61/67. which to me seems way off for having a crappy metering block instead of a plate. if it's not working out well, make a thread about your specific problem with it and maybe we can help.

Stock/mild port engine go with a Mikuni, extend or Bridge port go Weber IDA, absolute best, but if you have the readies go aftermarket EFI with a stand alone that is the best option.

$600 buys my whole setup with less than 1k miles on it.

Or trade for IDA setup.

Like how I'm trying to sell the same **** I've been talking **** on?

Don't buy a holley.
