gsl to gsl-se offset difference
i have an 85 gsl, and want to convert my bolt pattern to 114.3 and have decided the easiest way would be to swap the front struts, shocks, spindle, brakes, etc. and since i already have a perfectly good lsd rear end, it doesn't make sense to swap the entire thing, but instead just get adaptors that would be a simple bolt on.
the problem is that the adaptors are 1 1/4" thick, so the rear wheels would be thrown out a little more. now i know that the se suspension also throws the wheels out, but how much? im worried that my rear wheels would stick out quite a bit much further than the front wheels would. can anyone tell me the difference in offset im going to get on the front going from gsl, to gsl-se suspension?

as far as i know you could just run the gsl-se rear hubs and **** on your car becuase the axles for all the 84-85 gsl and gsl-se's are the same sizes...just the bolt patterns different.....someone please correct me if im wrong but im sure i read that somehwere on here

No,the SE axles and front rotors do push the wheels out more.Subsequently,the stock SE wheels are very FWD looking, with almost no dish.
Im not 100% sure on the amount,but when I installed my SE rearend,it pushed my old Cenerlines out about 20-25MM from where they say with a GSL rearend.It was enough to have to roll my rear fenders for clearance.That was with 15X7 wheels with 12MM offset and 205/50-15 tires.

does anyone have any better suggestions for me? i guess swapping the rear to gsl-se too would solve the problem, or buying 4 adaptors instead of 2, but both those require more cash, and more work (unless you can verify that the axles and bolt pattern from the gsl-se will actually fit into the gsl rear end (which i doubt)
