Grounded the Alternator to the Engine, now won't start.
Ok, so as embarrassed as I am at the moment, I need help. That is the only reason why I'm telling anyone about what I did this morning. While taking the alternator pulley off, I laid the alternator flat on the engine, completely forgetting to take the terminals off the battery, and the ground from the alternator touched the engine. A small spark was then followed by some smoke coming from the 'fusible link' (FSM terminology, correct if wrong) and now when I go to start, I get nothing.
So, trying to figure this out on my own I started looking at the fusible link and noticed that the (3) connecting wires in it are very old (obviously), and worn down. I'm surprised they conduct electricity at all. That's besides the point though. Just figured I'd include it.
If you guys could provide insight it would be very very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You probably just fried one or more of the fusible links, or a fuse under the dash. I'd go ahead and replace the fusible links with those FLF cartridge fuses. You can get them at any auto parts store and they pop right into the stock fusible link box. There are quite a few threads on it. Also, don't forget to go through all the fuses under the dash.
