Red face Ground Control Sway bar, anybody?

Has anybody installed one of these? I got a new one off of ebay and it doesn't have the same fitment as the OEM. Then end links are not lined up with the control arm, it has abit of a forward tilt toward the front of the car when you put the link bolt and bushings on; so much that the there are no threads showing to start the nut. I ended up cutting 3/4inch off of the link tube to get it to fit. Keep in mind this was a new bar, links and bushings, instructions still in the sealed bag, a very nice 1 1/8in heavy bar. I did notice that GC doesnt sell these anymore.... did I get jipped? How will the shorter link tubes affect the handling......this is unknown waters for me so any help or comments are welcome....and the flames too.(never fails, you post and somebody flames you for sport).

No idea on why the fitment is that way, no experience with them. However the shorter link tube wont affect anything or change the handling at all.

Silly goose you have to jack up the control arm for everything to align, also you gain those threads to put that nut on, try it. Not sure what will happen with the handling being that you cut that guy a little short.

is this the standard fixed front bar? Or their older adjustible front sway bar? I had the adjustible on my old IT/AutoX car and loved it..

With my adjustibale ST rear I could dial in the right amount of over-steer based on the track.

Hmmm, Jackin wouldn't help I think. After I installed the bar, I couldn't reinstall the tension rods at the same level of adjustment on the rear nut, I had to back each side off just to get the 2 bolts to line up with the control arm. Before restoring the setting on the rear nut of the tension rods I loosened the tension rod mounting plates so I could get some give from the holes, once I got the control arm bolts tight and the rear nut set back I then tightened the plate bolts and then tightened the front tension rod nut and pinned it. Took it for a alignment and it was really close to stock.the link end is still at a slight angle and not straight up and down.....but hey it drives fine, will put it through it's paces at the drift event on Sunday to see if I can't break anything. Has anybody ever beefed up the control arms to keep them from folding under hard loads.....liked extreme drifting? I might fab up something and get a opinion from the forum.
Thanks again for the feedback and suggestions!
