Got my 12a streetport dyno'd
Made it over to Vivid Racing's new dyno here in Atlanta to see what the little triumph would put down to the wheels. Heres what I have:
85 12a streetport (unknown size or pattern)
RB Holley 465
Custom Header to dual magnaflows
2nd gen direct fire
No anything, just the motor and an alternator
I pulled a 119 at the wheels on a Dynojet. I am pretty happy with this number with no tuning at all. That means 150 at the crank, or alittle less than 50% more hp than a stock motor. I have a horrible richening situation above 6500 or so where it gets as rich as 10:1. Otherwise racing beat hit it pretty well on. Maybe somebody or Holley themselves can tell me how to lean out the top end. That little 1.1 liter continues to impress me with alittle more than 100 hp/liter at the wheels. If only the stock triumph 1.5 liter was that peppy.

The carb is definitely a racing beat modified 465 for a 12a streetport. They say that it is the right size at least. I could be wrong, but I think the secondary jet size is fixed unless you convert the carb to changable secondary jets. I may be forced to do that.
The little girl is still new to me, less than 6 months, and I enjoy 8k rpm to much to give her up yet. Boy do I love the rotary, a perfect match for this car.

love the braaaap
A holley 465 is good for a stock or mild streetported 12a engine. You might find more power if you go to the 600, but I kinda doubt that. Get that baby tuned and it'll make another 20 hp easily. Streetported 12a's normally make about 170 fwhp with a proper tuning, carb, and exhaust.h

A triumph is an easy 2nd place when it comes to my favorite car. of course the 7 being my first choice (generation doesn't even matter to me.) i got to drive one that i rode in for my homecoming parade after the festivities were over. everything was stock on the car and the owner (my math teacher) kept it in pristine condition. fun little sportster.
Your car gets mad KUDOS from me. combining an awesome little buggy with a very awesome engine and a good setup (due to your choosing).
Good luck with everything.
