Got 0WN3D on Ebay :(
Friend of mine was outbid in the LAST 3 SECONDS on a beautiful yellow/yellow '79 RX-7 in Kentucky.
Whoever got it got a steal, only $850.
needed an engine apparently, but I was going to give him the original engine from White Trash. Still runs and compatible with the '79 emissions equipment.

Ya i saw that car on there. It looked pretty nice, but it did appear that it had been sitting for a little while. But ya that sucks when you get out bid at the last second like that. It must be people with cable modems or something? Who knows, I have always wondered if there are people out there with programs that can cheat the system or something??

No, not cable modems. There is some site you can become a member of called "auction sniper" you tell it what your max bid will be and it bids for you at the last second. Its the gayest thing ever, it takes all the fun out of bidding. Oh well, I'd assume thats how your friend got fucked.

I wonder if you both ran the program (you and the bastard) wouldnt it be right down to the millisecond? It would actually come down with who has a faster comp or who lives closer...but if thats not true, and they arrive at the same time..coundnt the programs interconnect and than destroy themselves?

the funny thing was he bid on it with 5 min remaining... and he was proxy-bidded back out of highest bid. So a minute later he bids again. He's highest bidder! Kept hitting refresh.... refresh.... refresh... 3 seconds to go, the highest bid goes up. CRAP!!!!!
Oh well. Whoever bought that car obviously WANTED IT. Was hopign it was someone on the forum so I could cong-RATS-ulate him

Actually I have some insight on this subject.....
You use the program if your after the item, not for the sport of bidding.
Also, it is who ever has the highest bid not who bid last. In the program, you set your bid at the maximum you would consider paying. If it is less than the maximum bid someone else might have set before yours, you'll still loose.
Drive well, drive safe.
