Is this gasoline too old? PICTURES INSIDE!!
So i just bought my first rx7 from my g/fs uncle for $500, very sweet deal and i am very excited. I had the car running for about 10 seconds at first and now it only runs off starting fluid. I took a boat fuel primer pump thing and hooked it to the carb and had the other end in a 5 gallon gas tank. I pumped gas into the carb and the car ran for about a minute until I ran out of gas (the little tank was low) . I determined that fuel pump is bad and I will be ordering one tomorrow. The last time the car was registered was 1999 and the last time the car was started was 3 years ago.
I took the fuel line off the pump and the gas looks like ****. Its sticky, more potent smelling than new gas, and the gas put a hole in a thin plastic cup lol. The gas is still very liquidy and poored out of the fuel line like crazy. It nots like sludge or goo. Its very liquidy and when u get it on ur fingers u feel a little stickyness.
Now, I will deffenelty be draining this gas out, replacing the fuel filter, pump and blowing the lines out. However, Is this gas bad enough where I need to drop the tank and get it boiled or use that crazy cleaning solution? or will draining it out and filling it with fresh gas do the trick?
Thanks everybody!
(1st picture is of old gas)
(2nd picture is comparing new gas with the old)

It needs a few odds and ends, nothing major. My concern is the brakes I wonder if the calipers and all the crap it gonna be jammed up. But it takes what it takes, these cars are cool!

Okay, and I think I am going to be dropping the gas tank and getting it boiled and sealed. I think that any fuel that doesn't come out with just a drain will gun things up. $125 for the boil and sealing is worth being on the Safe side
