Sure, great street turbo for a rotary.
I run a TO4B on my 13BT.
But thats a VERY broad question......
What trim, what style, what A/R,what inlet?..........there are a million different TO4 turbo variations out there and each one of them will behave differently. Not all are suitible for a given engine.

yes i found one on ebay that is for good price i wanted to know if it would be a good application for my 12a here is what it says

This auction is for a Garrett T4 turbocharger. The A/R on the compressor side is .42. The exhaust inlet has the standard 4 bolt T04 flange as seen on most all T04 turbo manifolds and the outlet is a 4 bolt. This turbo would be great for any individual looking to produce a lot of power. This turbo is commonly installed on four and six cylinder motors as seen in Honda, Acura, Volkswagen, Dodge, Nissan, Ford, etc. Also installed on many eight cylinders as part of a single or twin turbo setup. These turbos sell for over $1500 from a Garrett dealer!!!
any good?

My buddy has that turbo on his bored/built 2.0L B18C1.The turbo is currently maxed out at 13psi,its holding back an engine built to laugh at 25psi and deliver 800HP if he got the right setup feeding it.

Yea,dont underestimate a rotaries thirst for air,even a little 1.1L 12A N/A eats as much air as a 2.3L N/A piston engine.

90% of the turbos for sale out there are woefully small, compared to what a rotary needs.
One of the best, availible and feasible turbo upgrades for a 12A or 13B is the stock T18 from the 89-91 TII.Its already designed to feed and bolt to a rotary.Only a little work is required to fit it to a 12A.On a 13B its good to about 12-13psi without getting overworked. On the smaller 12A,itd probably be happy up to 14psi,without exceeding its performance range.
They are cheap and can easily be upgraded to a TO4 type compressor if you want more boost or heavy porting. The S5 dual wastegate and split runner exhaust manifold are also both well designed and capable of controlling 14psi of boost safely with a good electronic controller.
Stay clear of the S4 turbos however. They have a very small wastegate and poorly designed manifold. They are OK for a stock setup or very mild turbo conversion, but the availibility and improvements of the S5 turbo makes it a far better choice.

So how much fabrication would be needed to put the S5 Turbo onto the 12A? What kind of intercooler if any would be recomended?

Sure it is,but "good" for what?Topend only,bottomend grunt,drag racing,road racing,dyno queen.

Turbos have personallity, just like engines. The way you setup a turbo when you build it,will determine its performance characteristics.
Simply asking if a Garret TO4 turbo is a good choice isnt enough.
Yes,Garret is a good company and yes the TO4 family of turbo is a good rotary turbo, but there are tons of variables(trim,A/R,inlets,bearings,ect) that determine if a specific TO4 turbo is good for your engine setup and your expected driving habits.
You have to know all those things first, before buying a specific turbo of any size, shape or family.

You take a big gamble buying a turbo that way.Unless you have prior knowledge of a PARTICULAR turbo setup working on someomne elses car with the same engine and porting as yours, theres no way of knowing if that turbo is right for YOU.Even then its shakey because everyone has their own opinion on how much lag is too much,or how much boost is too much, ect. My T04B has a little lag,but I feel its completely acceptable, whereas someone else with the exact same setup might find it unacceptable.

Thats why its best to leave turbo selection to a pro,or select a turbo as part of a kit which is designed for your specific ride. That way you know your getting something you want....nothing worse than buying an Ebay turbo that runs out of huff at 5000rpms......or one that doesnt even boost until 4000rpms.......

bah.. buy the turbo, and set it up..
thats a semi-standard flange, so if your setup is too slow or wonky or whatever, you can upgrade easy, and hock off the turbo you bought on ebay, baddabingbaddaboom, free intercooler!

Looks like a scam to me!!

225 views,no bids and $199 buy it now!!!!.....pass, thats really fishy.
Plus that turbo is WAY to small and the intercooler looks like a factory job, very dinky core.

Looked a little closer, its a stock Volvo turbo and IC.Looks like he hit it with some chrome spray paint too,who knows how many miles are on the thing......

that turbo is way too small >
Garrett A/R .42 on intake, A/R .48 on exhaust side .
both intake and exhaust A/R`S are too small and it would be a waste of money and time. but hey its your $$$$
heres my to4e/66 , 1.32 exhaust housing
