On the GSL, top to bottom, it's
Headlight motors (brown)
Main (black)
Headlights (brown)
The -SE has a separate block with two links
Injection (green)
computer (brown)
-John.

My thoughts are the original links were not designed to handle the peak output from the newer alternators. Plus, it is far easier to troubleshoot a fuse than a link. And as an additional bonus the second gen fuse block gives you more flexibility in adding aftermarket accessories i.e. foglights etc.

They seem to be handling the peak power of my 80 amp alternator quite fine and it's easier to replace the fusible link than do a wholesale changeover with all that cutting and splicing and soldering and etc.....

hanman is now scurring to gather up some pics.
i'll posts pics of mine when i finalize my direct fire setup,
i just used three breaker boxes but plan to swap them over to 3 agu style fuses "60 amp" in see through 4-10 gauge holders.

he probably got to the part were the tape came into play and started to think,
"**** now i need to find some spare wire to run to this thing,
oh **** it,its never gonna fly,I'll just pretend like i dont see the thread"
I promise pics of mine soon enough,
my problem is im converting from my breakers that i installed to agu fuses,
the fuse holders are roughly $5.00 a piece,
nice high amp fuses are $5.00 a piece
but the highest amp fuse i have on hand is a 50a,
and the highest i can find is a 60a,
i want 80a-100a
so i might not use the agu fuses and instead use waffle fuses,
a bit more expensive though.

why do you want fuses with that high of an amp rating?
granted they are probably not going to blow, but if by some chance they do, your wiring will probably go with it
