I get the feeling the average age on this board is a lot younger than the "low 30s"
I've driven my car with no front license plate forever, I just hate to mount that bracket and muck up the nice looking front end.
The last time I was pulled over in the car, the trooper asked me if I had just had the car repainted (noticing the sparkling black shine in the sun ). Realizing what he was getting at, I said yes, and he said that must be why I didn't have a plate bracket on the front of it yet.
He said he liked the color a lot, and let me go with a warning! That was way back in '95

Actually another version of the "hawian good luck sign" is simply giving someone the finger. The way it worked, ZI believe in WWII, the american soldiers in the japanese POW camps, would flip off all the japanese soldiers, and told them it was the "hawian good luck sign". They eventually found out what it really was, and supposidly there were screams all night long.

I just wanted to tell this because it is too good of a piece of history not to pass along to younger kids.
