lol alright. today i was going to wire a switch to my fuel pump. So i go to the clip under the storage bin and measure the voltage and it says 5V. thats with the jumper in the engine bay jumped and the keys forward.

Something is not right. You have an SE, you should not be getting voltage unless you are cranking, the afm door is open, or you have jumpered the fuel pump test connector in the engine bay. Retest your voltage, are you sure it isn't 0.5 volts?

Then you have a problem, you should be reading very close to battery voltage, within 0.2 volts, iirc. Time to chase down the bad connection, or rewire it entirely.

when i rewired my fuel pump i checked the voltage and it read at like 3 volts or something ridiculously low but the car runs fine too. Mines a big piece of **** though.

I have no clue why you would be getting 5 volts. I would do the test again with everything else electrical shut off, other than maybe the memory power for the stereo. Then test it again while the car is running and see what you get for voltage.
