Fuel Pump & FPR for a dellorto carb

I am installing my new dellorto carb.

I plan on going with this fuel pump
http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...=egnsearch.asp

It is a carter Universal Rotary Vane Electric Fuel Pump. I figure cant go wrong if it says rotary!!!

Its is max 6psi, with 72 gph. Will this be enough to feed my hungry Streetport.

For the FPR I know I have to drop the fuel pressure to around 2.25/2.5
http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...=egnsearch.asp

So I am planning on going with Holley FPR with 1-4 psi.

But my question on this is, do i need a return style FPR, or no?

Thanks

Does your Dell have a return? Some don't. A return style helps the pump last longer.

No my dell doesnt have a return. How much longer does it make it last. I mean the only one I see on summit racing that has a return is 75 bucks and it is only 3-12 psi. Will that be low enough?

Just noticed those links dont really work.

Here you go

you can always buy a fuel inlet fitting for the carb that has two ports, inlet and a smaller one for return.

that pump and regulator is fine. buy a fuel pressure gauge and plumb it in right before the carb. I use 2.25psi on my 7 and repu with dells.

Where can I get one of those? So it would go here where the original inlet is?

You could use a return style regulator instead.

How long would it last if I dont get a return style one. So far I havent been able to find a return style on that goes low enough in the PSI range

At that pump psi you shouldn't need a return. The return is required for the higher pressure fuel injection systems so that the pressure stays more constant, at least thats my understanding. I've been using two facet fuel pumps together into my Dell with no problems for years ( > 10 ). It was dual setup put out by Rotary Engineering at the time and I used the Dellorto from RB. Its all worked real well over the years except for the typical progressive carb behavior at low throttle. A lot of fun up top tho.

Im with you on this one i have used 2 facet pumps with my dell's & now im gonna just drop my 13b with the same set up 2 facets & my dell 48's Til i can recoup the funds for my streetport job in the fall. Fell behind on bills you know how that is so time to pay pay pay but getting back to the point the 2 facets & the holey pres reg work fine

I, too, run a pair of Facets on my streetported 13B 4 port. They are great pumps for the street, but for more serious applications, I switch over to my Holley Red. Actually, none of my pumps are being used right now, as my motor is in pieces. MY NEW HOUSINGS ARRIVED TODAY, THOUGH! w00t!

What's the reason for two facets over just one? I have only one facet pump on my car is this bad?

go with the Holley blue,it comes with a regulator for about $115.
I have used them for many years on RacingBeat Holley set ups.

They are a little loud, but you know its on

Facets come in different flow rates and pressures. Yours may be fine, it depends on the model. At the time I got mine from RE they used two to get the flow rate at the right pressure. I don't use a regulator at all on my Dell because the Facets are putting out the right PSI and the two of them flow enough for the highend. They're a bit noisy when they come on but other than that they have worked great over the years.
