Question Fuel injection versus carb - another alternative?

I am wondering if anybody has played with the idea of using the Holley projection unit on a rotary engine? I have been reading the archives about the HP limits of the stock fuel injection systems (13b 6port) versus the airflow capabilities of carbs and am curious if the pro-jection unit on a high performance manifold could produce the best of both worlds. I have of course heard both good and bad about the pro-jection unit itself, but the theory of an aftermarket throttle body type injection unit that could be used with other possible mods like turbo or supercharging interests me. What have you guys heard or what is your opinion.

I do not think the Holley computer is compatable with a rotary, but I might be wrong. A better idea would be a TWM w/a weber intake & rotary compatable computer. IMO

Mazdatrix tried it but "were sent the wrong computer" so they put a Dominator (enormous racing carb) on their drag engine.

I'd prefer the Dominator anyway just for the cool factor

They make a Dominator for the street with choked down venturis that yield 750 CFM just like the Holley you you plan to try...why not go for broke?

Yeah dig it... I just sold my MIG welder so i can make this month's insurance payment... (i been a bad boy, if i miss an insurance payment my license gets suspended automatically)

Oh well, at least I sold it to my roommate, so I can borrow it from him

peejay- when Mazdatrix was sent the wrong computer, did they just give up or has someone done some actual testing? I like the streetability (read that fuel economy, easy starting etc.) of fuel injected performance, so I doubt I will ever go carbed if there is a way to have things managed with some type of EFI.

By the way, I know the feeling of financial reconstruction, I just sold my plasmacam for a whopping loss, but you have to do what you have to do - ya know.

Looking at the Holley website I cannot find an application for anything other than Jeep sixes and American V8's.

Somebody know something different about this EFI system on a rotary?

digger......check out www.TWMinduction.com, they have TB's and minifold for 12a's and 13b's

Yeah, I plan on goin with TWM on the EFI route I just can't resist I think once it is all said, and done, I will be happy LATERZ,

The Projection is supposed to be a carb replacement.

It has something like 3 adjustment *****... low-load mixture, high-load mixture, and acceleration enrichment.

I haven't heard of anybody getting good results from the system...

Yeah, all the hardcore V8 guys are running DFI or whatever it is.
